We're Back...After 20 Years!
Wednesday, 23 February 2011
We have just returned to Togo after 20 years! Since
the median age of the population in Togo is 19 this is clearly a whole
new generation many of which will be hearing the Gospel for the first
time.
This morning we paid a courtesy visit to the State president who welcomed us with open arms. Pastor Bonnke was able to pray with him privately and we are rejoicing at what the Lord has done.
Tonight’s opening meeting in the capital city of Lome was a huge success. The city is buzzing with excitement and anticipation. Many thousands responded to the Gospel tonight and made a decision to follow Jesus.
We also saw tremendous miracles including a man who was unable to walk
without a cane for 16 years, a young man who had been unable to lift his
arm and a visitor from America whose leg was healed!
Tomorrow the Fire Conference begins and we are anticipating a mighty outpouring as we have seen in other places. Please keep an eye out for our reports this week and remember to pray for us as we preach the Gospel in Togo.

The Pure Gospel
Thursday, 24 February 2011
Just moments ago we returned from tonight’s meeting with joy. Evangelist Bonnke preached about “The Adulterous Woman” and the very eager and hungry crowd was hanging on every word. He told them that under the Law of Moses, that adulterous woman should have been stoned.
The reason that Jesus could pardon her is that he was already on his
way to the cross where he would take her punishment and pay the price
for her sin. It was a powerful
and holy moment when tens of thousands lifted their hands and accepted
by faith the substitution death of Christ. This is the pure Gospel at work. This is what has the power to change the world!
When I prayed for the sick we experienced an outpouring of the power of God.
A couple of times I said, “This will be the last testimony we hear
tonight”, but amazing stories kept on coming and I could not resist!
- A woman deaf in her right ear for 18 years and a man deaf in his left ear for 45 years were both instantly healed tonight!
- A
man who was unable to lift his arm for 5 years and a woman unable to
lift her arm for 12 years both received full restoration of their arms!
- A man crippled for 5 years can now walk and a young man’s hernia vanished!
Thank you for continuing to uphold us in prayer. More to come tomorrow

A Preacher's Paradise
Thursday, 24 February 2011
What a joy it is to preach to the people here in Lome, Togo. This is a preacher’s paradise! The people are so hungry, so responsive and so attentive. It is no wonder that Jesus responds to them with such wonderful miracles.
A local worship pastor told us that one year ago he was singing and suddenly his voice was gone.
For the past year he has not been able to sing or speak, but tonight,
he said that as the prayer for the sick he felt what he described as “a
washing” on his throat and vocal cords. Suddenly he realized he could speak, shout and sing! When he gave his testimony I handed the mic to him and told him to sing to the Lord. The tears rolled down his cheeks as he worshipped with his voice for the first time in months.
A little boy who was deaf and dumb from birth was brought by his next door neighbor tonight. After the prayer for the sick, the neighbor turned to the boy and asked, “Can you hear me?” The little boy replied, “YES!” I tested him on the platform and was amazed at how well he could hear and speak.
An old woman had severe knee problems that left her unable to walk. Tonight she said she felt a power surge through her body. She stood to her feet and for the first time in many years she can now walk! I asked her how long it had been since she was able to dance and she said it was “long ago.”
I asked the worship team to give us some dancing music and so, together
with the thousands present we began to sing, “He’s a mighty God.” The air filled with dust as thousands of feet began to dance and sing. Somehow I’m sure that the angels were dancing with us!
More than 51 percent of Togo’s population holds to traditional animist beliefs.
Tomorrow I will be preaching about the blood of Jesus and challenging
the occult deceptions that have kept many in bondage for countless
generations. Please pray that there would be a mighty demonstration of the power of God and that every curse would be broken in Jesus name.

Gospel of Peace
Saturday, 25 February 2011
I had an overwhelming sense tonight of how sacred the work is that we’re doing here in Togo. I preached about the blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and thousands responded to the message. Then I talked about the obligation that we, who have been forgiven, have to extend forgiveness to others. I saw how many wept as they prayed a prayer of forgiveness. This is the Gospel that we preach; a Gospel of peace, forgiveness, repentance, restitution and love.
Then I began to pray against the curses in the land; curses that many of the locals are afraid to mention aloud. I called them by their local names and took authority over them in the name of Jesus. Romans 16:20 came flooding into my spirit; “…The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” Satan’s power was broken tonight; crushed by a God of peace, forgiveness and love.
This morning the Fire Conference came to a climax as the Holy Spirit was poured out on the pastors and church workers. After Rev. Peter van den Berg preached, I stepped up to pray over the people. I
had an extraordinary awareness of the presence of God and had to fight
back the tears and before I could open my mouth to pray, the Holy Spirit
started to fall! Thank God for the Gift of the Holy Spirit!
Tomorrow is the final evening of the campaign here in Lome. Thank you for your continued prayers.

A Climactic Conclusion!
Sunday, 26 February 2011

Another evangelistic campaign has just come to a climactic conclusion. Tonight the field was teaming with people pressed into the limited venue with up to 8 people per square meter! You may have noticed the stadium next to our field and wondered why we were not holding the meetings there. The truth is that we could have filled that stadium nearly 4 times over with the crowd that was there just tonight!
After
preaching the Gospel and praying the prayer of salvation, we prayed for
the people to receive “The Promise of the Father”; the baptism into the
Holy Spirit. Jesus touched many people filling them and also healing them.
A
woman who had a lemon sized tumor in her right breast for 3 years said
that during the prayer she felt the lump leave her body. When she checked herself it was totally gone!
Another notable testimony came from an old lady who had lost her ability to speak 3 years ago after a terrible fall. Her son-in-law told me that when someone would ask her a question she would try to answer, but nothing would come out. He said that many times she would break down and weep out of frustration. But tonight during the prayer for the sick, suddenly he said, his mother-in-law started to sing! I put the microphone to her mouth and over the massive P.A. system she sang a beautiful song of praise to the Lord. The crowd was so touched, as was I. It was a wonderful moment.
After several miracle testimonies I prayed a prayer of blessing over the land and the people. I am sure the Lord will honor our prayers and that Togo will never be the same again!
We
are leaving with a tremendous joy in our hearts knowing that something
of eternal proportions has been accomplished this week. Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers and financial partnership.
