Our journey to Takum yesterday was a very long one. The "Harmattan" (a dust storm from the Sahara Desert) covered Nigeria in a thick fog that blotted out the sun and grounded many planes...including ours, for lack of visibility. By the time we arrived here in Takum it was 1:00 this morning. We thought that surely everyone in town would be sleeping. But to our surprise the streets were still lined with enthusiastic locals that had been waiting for many hours to welcome us. It is clear that this city is ripe for the harvest and we are here bringing in the sheaves.

Tonight, the first service began with Evangelist Bonnke preaching a powerful evangelistic message about repentance. The people received it with Joy, turning "from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God".

After the prayer for salvation I prayed for the sick and many wonderful miracles took place. We heard several powerful testimonies including one of a man who had suffered with a painful and deadly case of cancer of the mouth. 5 years ago he came to Jalingo (a nearby town) when the CfaN Gospel campaign was being held there. During one of those meetings, his cancer vanished instantly and from that day to this, he has been totally healed. It is so wonderful to see the lasting impact of the Gospel.

First thing tomorrow morning we will be preaching at the Fire Conference and we are expecting a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Please continue to pray for us throughout the week that the Gospel will break through even the darkest of hearts and turn all of Takum from darkness to light in Jesus name!

Takum is being shaken by the Gospel this week. Tonight many people brought their juju, idols and witchcraft fetishes to be burned, including a group of Fulani Muslim people that greeted me when I came down from the platform. After they received Jesus as their Saviour tonight, they immediately pulled off the old charms that they were wearing and threw them into the barrels for burning. Their faces, covered in tribal markings and tattoos, were beaming with the love of Jesus.

We heard some wonderful testimonies of healing, including one from a mother who pulled her daughter out of the local hospital and brought her to the meeting tonight. The girl was suffering with an extreme case of typhoid fever and the doctors were trying to treat her with no success. But the mother felt that if she could only bring the girl to the Gospel campaign she would be healed. Indeed she received a total and complete healing tonight!

Another fascinating story came from a woman who had been paralyzed for the past two years. In the middle of the night (last night), she was sleeping on the crusade ground, when suddenly she felt the Holy Spirit come over her like a breeze. She jumped up and suddenly realized that she was totally well.

This morning was also the start of the Fire Conference here and it was very well attended. It is clear that the people have come to receive.

We have just returned from tonight's meeting where many thousands of people received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. I preached about restitution, challenging them to clean the garbage out of their lives and they responded overwhelmingly. There are no words to describe the privilege of leading multitudes of hungry souls into the arms of Jesus.

After the prayer of salvation, it was time to pray for the sick. I asked the people to sing and worship the Lord and as they did, the power of God swept across the field and healing began to take place even before I had a chance to pray. I had an acute awareness of the presence of the Lord and the evidence soon followed. A woman unable to walk for 2 years, an epileptic, a dumb boy and a man who was paralyzed were among those that testified to being healed. Praise the Lord!

We are greatly anticipating the finale of the Fire Conference tomorrow morning. I am expecting a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit and for the people of God to be empowered as never before. Please continue to pray for us.

Together in the Harvest,

Today has been a Holy Spirit day from morning to night. The grand finale meeting of the Fire Conference was absolutely packed by 6:00 AM. The people came out by the thousands to receive an impartation of Holy Spirit Fire. We laid hands on the senior pastors and sent them out into the huge crowd like the fiery foxes of Samson to pray for all the delegates.

Tonight after the prayer for salvation, the Holy Spirit fell again on the crowd of 125,000. Everywhere I looked I could see incredible things happening. I immediately began to pray for the sick and mighty miracles began to break out.

A man who was blind and crippled in his hands and feet received total and instantaneous healing. I told him that we would test his eyes, hands and feet all at the same time and I asked him to catch me. I was amazed at how quick and strong he was. He was overflowing with joy. "I’m so very happy," he told me.

A precious woman also received multiple miracles tonight; her deaf ears and blind eyes were all opened.

Also, a man whose left side was paralyzed from a stroke, a man who had tuberculosis and a boy who was crippled for two years all were healed together with many others...Praise the Lord!

Tomorrow night is the final meeting here in Takum and we are looking for one more huge harvest. Thank you for your ongoing prayers.

We have just returned from the final meeting of our final campaign of the season 2009/2010 here in Takum, Nigeria and Jesus saved the best for last.

The attendance topped 185,000 tonight in this remote place! Every external indicator has proven that God has done something remarkable here. This morning the pastors testified that their churches were flooded with new converts. Each night our barrels were filled with witchcraft items to be burned.

The response to the Gospel preaching was huge. Thousands were filled with the Holy Spirit and we received many testimonies of miraculous healings included several remarkable ones tonight.

Among them were a man who was crippled for 5 years but now can walk, a young man who restored to his right mind after years of insanity and a young woman who had been dragging her crippled legs around since she was eight years old…now she can walk. Also another large contingent of Fulani Muslim people received Jesus Christ tonight and has become true Christians. Praise the Lord!

Tomorrow we begin the long voyage home. Thank you so much for standing shoulder to shoulder with us in this historic harvest of souls; both prayerfully and financially. We see ourselves as co-workers together with you and with Jesus for the sake of the harvest and the best is yet to come in Jesus name!
