The church of Jesus Christ is not a pleasure boat but a lifeboat. Entertainers are neither needed nor wanted. From the captain to the cook all hands are needed on deck for soul-saving. The church that does not save the lost is lost itself.

One of the most remarkable prayers of intercession recorded in the Bible is found in Isaiah 64 where the prophet calls upon the Lord, saying, “Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at Your presence – as fire kindles the brushwood, as fire causes water to boil – to make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence!” (Isaiah 64:1-2 nasb).

We believe in a blood-washed Africa. What about a blood-washed Europe? Isn’t what happens in Africa possible in Europe? The time has come to see it that it is!

Wisdom and knowledge complement each other. If a special word of knowledge brings to light a particular set of circumstances, a word of wisdom may well also be needed so that it is possible to do what should be done. Four particular aspects define this kind of knowledge.

These were the last recorded words of Jesus Christ to his disciples before he ascended into heaven at the end of his three years of earthly ministry:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  Acts 1:8

It is a well-known fact that Luke’s Gospel is full of references to bread, food, meals and eating. I counted 48 passages on this subject. The most notable of them all is where Luke relates the feeding of the five thousand in Luke 9:10-17. That incident is recounted in all four Gospels so it obviously has some very important things to tell us.

Easter is the celebration of our redemption. Through his death and resurrection Jesus overcame the enemy’s power. He defeated sin, death and the devil and made losers out of the powers of darkness for all eternity. The Easter message is that Jesus is victorious! Without him there would never have been any possibility of redemption. However, thanks to his sacrifice and his triumphal resurrection, he has opened the way to God for us. Through his suffering he became the author of our salvation.

Millions believe that Jesus exists, and some are very good at proving it – but not all have a living relationship with him. He is somewhere else, remote, and not present in their day-to-day life.

Jesus is the most important person of all time, the one after whom our era is named, the one who is loved and worshipped by more people than anyone else who ever walked this earth. Jesus is absolutely everything for those of us who have accepted him as our Lord and Saviour. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He gave everything for us – and we should also give everything for him.

What we are experiencing on the “dark continent” is one of the greatest miracles in history. Perhaps you have not often experienced in the past – or perhaps you just did not notice – that something supernatural was happening in your life. Perhaps you need a miracle in your life right now?

Have you ever been so excited about a Christmas present that you had carefully and creatively selected to give to a loved one that you honestly had trouble keeping it a secret?

Here is a question. It sounds like a Bible riddle, two riddles in one in fact. What is the greatest thing God ever did … and could he do something greater?

God has given everything that we will ever need for our life on this earth, provided it for us in his loving kindness. Just as the gift of a small boy from Galilee who trustingly placed his five loaves and two fishes in Jesus’ hands made the miracle of the feeding of the 5,000 possible, what you already have, what you are holding in your hands as it were, makes possible the miracles in your life.

When I was a schoolboy sitting in a church service, the Spirit of God powerfully led me to put my hands on a woman on the other side of the room. She was cured at once – and I do not know who was more astounded, she or I! It was the first time anything like that had ever happened to me.

One day, my father Hermann Bonnke went “fishing” but his “catch” was far different from what he or anyone else might ever have expected – an incredible story.

This power is not simply our faith in power. It is not a matter of going through a routine and believing that the power of God is at work, invisibly. His power should be seen and be manifested. There should be effects, both physical and personal, that can be attributed to the power of God. People’s lives should be affected in some tangible way.

In Joshua Chapter 3 we read that the children of Israel’s nomadic caravan had come to a seemingly unsurpassable obstacle; the Jordan River had flooded its banks and blocked their path. If Joshua had been trained at some of our fine Bible colleges, I am sure he would have counselled the Israelites with wise words such as “We are going to wait right here until the Lord makes a path in the waters”. Or in the modern vernacular: “We are going to wait until the Lord opens a door.” But his command was quite the opposite.

Are you seeking God’s will for your life? If so, you are not alone. Questions regarding God’s will are among the most frequent ones I encounter as I minister around the world. It seems that, regardless of the country, continent, race, culture, gender or age, people everywhere are searching for, and desiring to fulfil, God’s will for their lives.
