We have just arrived in the city of Karu in Nigeria where the people have been waiting for our arrival with great anticipation. It is officially the beginning of the 2010-2011 Crusade season and we are so eager to jump back into this unprecedented and historic harvest of souls taking place on the African continent.  

The pastors told us today that our coming now is especially significant to them because it was in August of 1910 that the first missionaries came to this region…exactly 100 years ago this month!  Although it is rainy season here in Nigeria and we technically consider this our “Out of Season” crusade, we all have a sense that the timing of this event has been divinely orchestrated.  

At the welcome dinner tonight, the crusade chairman said, “The atmosphere of this land changed immediately once your feet touched the soil of Karu today.  The spiritual temperature has tremendously increased.  The high voltage of God’s power is about to be detonated and we are confident that Satan and his cohorts are already jittery.”

Over the next five days the city of Karu and its neighboring villages are going to receive a visitation from Heaven that, I am sure, will impact this land for eternity.  Thank you so much for sending us and for under-girding us with your prayers as we storm the gates of Hell.

 

Among those healed was:

Tonight the crowd nearly doubled to 200,000!  The power of God fell in an extraordinary way and miracles began to take place even before I had finished praying for the sick.  

As I was praying I saw a young woman running to the platform with crutches raised over her head. I immediately called her up to the platform. She came with her sister and they told me that she had been crippled by a severe spinal cord injury, but suddenly the power of God came over her and she was totally healed. They wept and embraced as they told the story.

A woman brought her husband who had been mad. He was so violent and vicious that he had to be tied up. Before the meeting he was bound, hands and feet behind the platform, but during the prayer he returned to his senses. They cut the ties and set him free. He was calm and spoke softly to me in his right mind.

A young man testified that he was crippled on the right side of his body for 11 years. Tonight, during the prayer for the sick, he suddenly felt something come out of his head and realized that he had full and perfect use of his arms and legs!

A woman, deaf in her right ear for 20 years received her hearing as well.

These were but a small sampling of the many mighty miracles that took place tonight, but the greatest miracle of all was the multitudes that responded to the message and received salvation.

Please continue to pray for us and the many people who need the touch of God here in Karu, Nigeria.

Hold on to your hats!  When we arrived at the field tonight we saw how piles of stolen belongings had been surrendered by thieves to be turned over to the authorities. Also, many idols and witchcraft items were brought to be burned!  Once they went up in smoke I began to pray for the people breaking every devilish curse in the mighty name of Jesus and amazing things began to happen!  Demons started manifesting, healing was spontaneously breaking out all across the field and many bondages were instantly broken. An insane woman suddenly came to her senses. Cripples began to walk, people blind, deaf and dumb were instantly healed. The crowd of 250,000 was ecstatic; dancing and singing for joy.

It was holy chaos...I wish you could have seen it!! 

Just as we were finishing the meeting the rain started to pour and even now is coming down outside my window. Although this is the rainy season and a risky time to hold open air meetings, so far the Lord has kept the rain from disturbing a single meeting and we are rejoicing!

Also...tomorrow is the final day of the FIRE conference and we are sure there will be a mighty outpouring of Holy Spirit baptism.

Please keep praying for the 3 remaining meetings of this campaign and the many thousands that have yet to hear the Gospel. The best is yet to come!

The Great African Outpouring continues here in Karu, Nigeria! It is truly remarkable and sovereign what Jesus is doing.

This morning Rev. Peter Van den Berg and I ministered at the Fire Conference and the Holy Spirit fell on the thousands of pastors that gathered in a powerful way. I am sure that the impact will be felt in Karu for decades to come.

Tonight the crowd grew to over 300,000 and it is no exaggeration to say that multitudes received Christ. All of Heaven must be rejoicing. There were also many outstanding miracles.

-  A man who was totally paralyzed for 34 years was healed tonight. He had been unable to stand, sit, or even feed himself, but during the prayer, strength came into his body and he rose up and walked!
-  A girl who had been totally deaf and dumb for 10 years suddenly began to hear and speak!
-  A young man brought a diagnosis from 2006 that said he was HIV positive. But after receiving prayer last night, he went for another test this morning. He also brought that report and I read it to the crowd..."HIV Negative"!

Many other amazing miracles took place you can see a few of them in the attached pictures.

Tomorrow night is the final meeting here in Karu and we believe that Jesus has saved the best for last. Please continue to pray.

Tonight was the final meeting of our Gospel campaign here in Karu, Nigeria and the attendance peaked at 450,000 people!  Watching the multitudes streaming onto the field by the thousands one pastor said, “It looks like the Children of Israel entering the Promised Land”.  As Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke preached the Gospel tonight, the people were absolutely captivated and they responded with such eager enthusiasm that when they prayed, calling upon the name of Jesus for salvation, it seemed as if the ground was trembling.  

After the prayer for the sick we heard many wonderful testimonies including that of a woman, paralyzed for 15 years who was totally healed.  Another woman who was totally blind in both eyes for 3 years can now see.  A young man who had hepatitis brought the results from a test he got today after receiving prayer…he is healed.  A woman with a large lump in her right breast told us how it suddenly vanished.  Praise the Lord!

Thank you for praying for us and sending us...it truly is harvest time. You are a part of our team and we rejoice together at the many thousands of salvations and miracles that took place this week. I’m sure that Karu will never be the same again.  The final figures from the decision card count will follow as soon as we receive them.
