Great Gospel Campaign in Lagos, Nigeria
15 - 19 November 2006
Day 1 - Wednesday, 15 November 2006
Dear Mission-Partners,
Here
comes the report from the first meeting of the present Lagos Crusade.
The power of God was surely there and a great number of people received
Jesus as their Savior.
Miracles
of healing happened. A boy who hadn’t walked for 3 solid years walked
very well. The mother was overjoyed and happy – and so were we.
Cancer
and hernias disappeared which made the crowd hilarious. It was just the
first service and we believe that everything will grow and increase
rapidly.
Please continue to pray for us.
Yours from the harvest-field and in the love of Jesus,
Reinhard Bonnke, Evangelist
with the whole CfaN-Team.
Day 2 - Thursday, 16 November 2006
Dear Mission-Partners,
What
a meeting today! The crusade-field, still partly swampy from the heavy
rains until last week, was filled with a great crowd of people. The
altar-call was gigantic and signs and wonders followed the prayer for
the sick. It surely was a glorious night of liberation from the chains
of Satan. Thank you so much for your intercessory prayers. They are
highly effective.
The
Fire Conference opened this morning in the National Stadium. It was a
most wonderful divine visitation. We can’t wait to see all that God is
going to do here in Lagos through this coming Sunday. Please continue
to pray for us.
Yours from the harvest-field
And in the love of Jesus,
Reinhard Bonnke, Evangelist
with the whole CfaN-Team.
Day 3 - Friday, 17 November 2006
Dear Mission-Partners,
We
just returned to the hotel from the crusade-field. It is after 10 PM
but I wanted to hurry and send this report to you. In one sentence: THE
GLORY OF GOD CAME DOWN. What a move of salvation! What a concentration
of divine love, power and compassion! It seems to me that no one was
left out of the altar-call. Everybody pressed through the Narrow Door
into the Kingdom of God.
Again
the sick were healed wholesale. Wonderful testimonies were given and
the name of Jesus was praised! The crusade ground is still, in part,
very swampy. The whole left side of the picture is under water and
other patches right through, but we press on....
Thank
you for all of your prayers and help. Your reward in heaven will be
great. We brace ourselves for the weekend – the best is just about to
come!
Yours from the harvest-field
And in the love of Jesus,
Reinhard Bonnke, Evangelist
with the whole CfaN-Team.
Day 4 - Saturday, 18 November 2006
Dear Mission-Partners,
Sorry
for being a few hours late. Last night’s meeting was simply glorious.
Souls were saved in huge numbers, as the fire of the Holy Spirit fell
in a mighty way. We also witnessed outstanding miracle-healings. Among
them was a 32 year old man in a wheelchair. “I’ve been in it all my
life”, he said, as he walked across the stage and showed us a picture
with his school-class. It showed him in the very same wheelchair. There
were so many other miracles that happened. Jesus gave healing to the
people like a father would give bread to his children. That is our God
and what a mighty God we serve.
This
morning was the last Fire Conference session. Yes, God’s fire fell. My
own heart was deeply touched. Tonight will be the final night. Thank
you for your prayers and all your help. The Lord will richly reward you.
Yours from the harvest-field
And in the love of Jesus,
Reinhard Bonnke, Evangelist
with the whole CfaN-Team.
Day 5 - Sunday, 19 November 2006
Dear Mission-Partners,
We
have just finished the last meeting. I am sitting in the container
behind the platform as I write these lines to you. What a mighty
harvest of souls! Just minutes ago, hundreds of thousands received
Jesus as their Savior. There must be great joy in heaven, because I can
hardly contain myself! Most notably, a host of miracles happened. Jesus
was and is among us. Glory to God! Thank you for all your prayers and
timely help.
In
two weeks we will return to Nigeria for the next crusade. The harvest
is ripe and ready to be reaped. May the Lord help us to respond
according to our different calls.
Yours from the harvest-field
And in the love of Jesus,
Reinhard Bonnke, Evangelist
with the whole CfaN-Team.
Six Gospel Crusades in just six months!
It is planned to be an immense logistical, technical, and no doubt,
financial challenge, for the entire CfaN team. This mighty gospel drive
has the potential to see hundreds of thousands, indeed, millions of
souls, swept into the Kingdom of God. Starting in Lagos, Nigeria in
November 2006, east to Ikom in December, and then early in January,
northwards to Ado Ekiti... crusade after crusade, it is planned to be
six glorious months of harvest!
Unprecedented Technical Challenges
The seasonal rains had only just finished and the Lagos crusade
"grounds" were more of a "swamp" than solid ground, yet the technical
crew battled on, and where necessary, improvised. Because of the soft
ground, concrete slabs instead of the usual massive pegs held the many
light poles in place. Heavy containers of crusade literature could not
be brought onto the site until the day before the crusade started for
fear that the trucks would break through the hard crust that had formed
after just four days of sunshine. Earthmoving equipment leveled the
ground, filling in damp areas with mountains of sand. Walls had to be
demolished and access created on all sides for the crowd that would
come to hear and witness the signs-following Gospel. Throughout the
week there were still swampy patches where people could not stand...
yet the people came... and were deeply blessed that they had made the
effort. For the entire season, over seven million follow-up booklets
had been printed and strategically positioned to meet the need of each
of the upcoming meetings. Twenty-one shipping containers were filled
with literature, all to be carefully distributed to those who make a
decision for Jesus! All of the technical equipment, huge sound towers,
amplifiers, light, and sound mixers, had been carefully maintained and
prepared for six months of meetings that would count on their absolute
serviceability and dependability.

Foreign Visitors
Over two hundred foreign visitors attended the Lagos Crusade from
countries as far as South Africa, Japan, Canada, and Brazil. Fellow
evangelists, ministry partners, supporters, and friends of the
ministry, who wished to see for themselves the dynamics of a CfaN
"Great Gospel Crusade." Many had faithfully supported the ministry from
afar, some for years. Now they would experience for themselves, for the
very first time, the ongoing wave of soul-winning; that moment when
countless thousands would turn to Christ. For those fellow evangelists,
it would be a challenging time of inspiration, that they too could step
out into nation changing Holy Spirit evangelism. There was a great
spirit of anticipation as new relationships were forged and hearts were
enfired for the lost.
New Life in Lagos
From the opening night, the numbers began to swell. Braving the almost
epic traffic jams created by the crowds, people came from across Lagos
to bepart of "Bonnke's Crusade." It had been over six years since the
CfaN team was in Lagos. They had been to many other cities in this, the
most populated country in Africa, yet the people were delighted that
now Bonnke had chosen to return to their city.
At the Fire Conference too, the crowd was hungry to receive... they
wanted some of this burning passion for reaching the lost that seems to
consume the man in his constant quest to see the lost snatched away from enemy territory. Bonnke reminded them that he could not give them
"his" anointing as this was unique to him and indeed not his to give
away, yet through teaching, he took them to a place where on the
Saturday morning the fire fell and each person received their own
anointing.
For each of the five nights of meetings, crowds gathered to hear the
life-changing Gospel. There were those for whom these messages were
something that they had never heard before. They stood hanging onto
every word, until the final altar call when they would slip up their
hands to make a first-time decision for this Savior who they now knew
could and would transform their lives. Then there were others who had
once heard the Gospel message and had previously made a decision, but
in the bustle of Lagos and the business of life, had let their focus
shift. For them Bonnke spoke of "back-sliders, sliding back to Jesus!"
Surely this was their opportunity too! For each person young and old,
first-time decision or recommitments, the Word hit home as if Bonnke
had specifically selected them from among the huge crowd and was
speaking to them alone. Night after night, the message was reinforced,
penetrating hearts, changing lives, washing away sin and bringing life
to the darkest area of people's lives. Souls were saved in huge numbers.
Signs and Wonders
On the Saturday evening, the fire of the Holy Spirit fell in a mighty
way as the entire congregation received the Holy Spirit into their
lives. That night, like on previous nights, we saw outstanding
miracle-healings. Among them was a 32 year old man in a wheelchair.
"I've been in it all my life," he said as he walked across the stage
and showed us a picture with his school-class where we saw him in the
same wheelchair.... and so many more and other miracles happened. Jesus
gave healing to the people like a father would give bread to his
children, not holding back, and giving the best. That is our God, and
what a mighty God we serve!
Pressing Forward
On the final night, the technical team soon sprang into action. As soon
as the last word on stage was spoken, it was time to take it all down
and make it ready for the next Gospel Crusade. On the other side of
Nigeria, in a city that does not even appear on all maps, in one of the
furthest and remotest parts of the country, preparations were already
in hand for the Ikom Gospel Crusade that would follow just two weeks
later. Lagos was not just one single crusade, but one of six that would
together, reap a great harvest for the Kingdom of God!
Dear Mission-Partners,
Our
Gospel Crusade in Lagos, Nigeria during the month of November this year
was to have brought the biggest harvest of souls in the history of
Christ for all Nations, but it did not. Our projections were well
founded and based on what we had experienced during the last six years
in Nigeria, but we were up against forces beyond our control and
realized this too late. It became clear that the body of churches in
that city was not at peace with each other and thus could not pull the
same rope.
The
peak-attendance at our Lagos Crusade was “only” 300,000 per service,
but the Lord blessed in a most wonderful way. It would be a sin to
complain, since the Lord did still so many wonderful miracles in
changed lives and wonderful healings and a mighty outpouring of the
Holy Spirit.
My
very special thanks to all who stood with us united in the Lagos
Crusade and also helped financially. Your sacrifice will be fully
rewarded and blessed by the Lord.
Six Gospel Campaigns in six Months!
From
January – April 2007, we shall have one Gospel Crusade per month in
West Africa. We cannot do it without you – your prayers and your
financial support are all a vital aspect of this great thrust into the
heartland of the enemy! Hence, my urgent request to you for earnest
intercession for these months. Onward Christian Soldiers! “The battle
is the Lord’s,” and we know that we are on the winning side.
Twenty-one
containers filled with vital follow-up literature are right now in the
harbour waiting to be cleared; convoys of trucks carrying a multitude
of technical items; literally millions of posters, handbills and
banners are all to be placed … the logistics for this six-month-long
crusade season are quite staggering … and so are the bills!
Stand and believe with us for great things and a multiplied harvest of precious souls!
What an honor and joy to serve the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke
